Outstanding and Local!!! After Price Alarms was bought out a few years ago we ended with a large National Alarm monitoring service. Problem was they never responded to any triggered events. When we’d call to complain, they would say our equipment is outdated and would try to sell us an all new system. Last week was the final straw. We were fed up with them. I looked at all the other options and decided to try Thorn. Within 5 minutes of filling out their on line form, I had a call from Stacey. We have a wired system and didn’t want to spend the money to go wireless. Within 2 hours they sent out Rene who really knew his stuff and was previously with Price’s Alarms. With the exception of a couple of new keypads, he worked with what we had and we signed up the same day! The next day Rene and Kevin were here at 8 am and Kevin had everything checked out and running in 4 hours!!! As a former Director of the BBB, I know the value an A+ rating!!! Thorn was a breath of fresh air and I highly recommend them!!!

Their system is very intuitive, simple but full of features if you so desire. We had an amazing experience with Thorn Security when we first opened our shop. They were quick to provide us with all the information we needed in regards to keeping our shop safe. The install was done professionally and we were walked through the process of how everything works with our alarm system and security cameras. They also helped us set up our app to ensure we can view the shop when away. Thorn Security is the new Price’s Alarms! For almost 11 years, I was the Director of Marketing at Price’s Alarms until the Price family sold to Telus. I still have many friends working there who are fantastic people but Telus and Price’s Alarms are very different companies. In order to maintain the reliability and peace-of-mind that comes from having a home security system from a company that cares, I recently cancelled my service with Telus and had Thorn Security update and reprogram my home alarm system. I am now proud to show the new Thorn Security decals and yard signs at my property, supported again by a family-owned security company that is small and able to provide excellence in customer service satisfaction. I am very impressed with the husband and wife team of owners – Dennis and Stacey Baggett who both work hard to support their customers and their team. Dennis is actually a Red Seal Electrician, so he really knows his stuff when it comes to wires, making supporting the best in security much easier. My installation technician was awesome too. My recommendation is to be proactive with your home or commercial security and SWITCH to Thorn Security before you run in to the lack of attention service issues and security inexperience that Telus provides. With security, we are talking about life safety and the security of everything you own and worked hard for. Give yourself Real Security provided by a Real Security company instead of a bundled package from the phone and TV people. Thorn Security employs some of the experienced people who were laid off from Price’s Alarms after becoming Telus – talented people with many years of experience. Rene Glenn for instance, was with Price’s Alarms for 10 years and will come to your home or business to talk with you about your security needs and recommend the right solution to meet your needs. He works for Thorn Security now, continuing to do what he does best – face to face security evaluations!
