The team at Thorn Security is very proud to work together to serve Southern Vancouver Island with security alarm systems, camera systems, access control, intercoms, entry systems and medical alert. We have always said “it is great people that make great teams” and we hope you will give us the chance to serve your security needs and show you why choosing a local, experienced security team is always the best security solution for peace-of-mind.

Dennis Baggett – Co-Owner
Dennis is the Director and Co-Owner of Thorn Security, a family-run business built on trust, accountability, and a deep commitment to community.
His journey began as a Red Seal–certified electrician and licensed electrical contractor, where he developed a strong foundation in precision, reliability, and hard work. Those early values evolved into a broader vision: to create a company that does more than install and service security systems – it protects what matters most.
Together with his wife, Stacey, Dennis has grown Thorn Security into a trusted name, known not only for technical expertise but for genuine care and personalized service.
Outside the business, Dennis is a devoted father of three energetic boys and an active coach in youth hockey and box lacrosse. For him, security isn’t just a profession – it’s a way to give back, to offer peace-of-mind, and to help build the kind of safe, connected community he wants his children to thrive in.

Stacey Baggett – Co-Owner
Stacey is the Co-Owner of Thorn Security, which she proudly runs alongside her husband, Dennis. With a strong passion for customer satisfaction and a drive to help the business thrive, Stacey plays a key role in the day-to-day operations – from bookkeeping and scheduling to ensuring every client receives top-notch service.
Originally trained in dentistry, Stacey transitioned into the security industry after their youngest of three boys turned three. What began as helping out has grown into a full-time commitment to the company’s growth and success.
Outside of work, Stacey is a devoted mom who embraces the chaos of hockey and lacrosse schedules, often acting as a full-time chauffeur. She also loves hosting gatherings and brings her outgoing, social nature to everything she does.

Tracy Len – Sales Manager
With 18 years in the security alarm industry, Tracy knows exactly what it takes to keep homeowners, businesses, government and industry safe – and how to ensure people feel genuinely cared for along the way. She spent over a decade training and supporting a team of 35 licensed Security Advisors throughout British Columbia at Price’s Alarms while leading a Sales Support team of 10. When Price’s Alarms was sold and became Telus Custom Security, Tracy guided her team and the Price’s Alarms customers through the transition for more than a year. While the experience with Telus Security was valuable, she found herself missing the connection and collaboration that comes with working for a smaller, more focussed, local business – so she joined Thorn Security to get back to her family-owned, Island company roots.
Part Sales Leader, part Admin Extraordinaire, Tracy plays a big role in Thorn Security’s continued growth and success in the security market. She’s passionate about helping customers find the right solutions to protect what matters most – and she’s always up for a good chat.
Born and raised in Victoria, Tracy lives here with her husband and two daughters. She’s a proud supporter of all things local, from farmer’s markets and craft fairs to discovering the Island’s best sweet treats. When she’s not out and about, you’ll find her on her deck with a fresh coffee and a good book.

Norm Ross – Operations Manager
With over 30 years of hands-on experience in the design and commissioning of low voltage systems, Norm brings deep technical expertise and a proven track record across a wide range of commercial and residential projects. From security cameras and alarms to data networks and integrated audio systems, Norm has successfully delivered tailored solutions that meet the evolving needs of modern infrastructure.
Norm’s work extends to advanced video systems, spanning full-scale theaters, high-performance Zoom conference rooms, and vibrant sports bar environments. Notably, Norm has played a key role in deploying some of Canada’s largest and most complex paging systems, including installations at major airports, Vancouver’s SkyTrain, Toronto’s GO Transit, as well as hospitals, universities, and K–12 schools across the country.
As Operations Manager, Norm is the critical link between customers and technical teams – ensuring seamless coordination, efficient installations, and systems that perform as promised.
Beyond the tech world, Norm is an avid woodworker and passionate photographer, always exploring the intersection of precision, creativity, and craft.

Curtis Baran – Electrician & Security Technician
Curtis began his electrical apprenticeship straight out of high school, diving headfirst into the trade with a strong work ethic and attention to detail. Early on, he honed his skills on high-end custom homes, where precision and craftsmanship were key.
His talent and leadership quickly set him apart. Within a short time, he was managing his own projects, and before long, he was overseeing an entire electrical division.
Now, with over 20 years of hands-on experience, Curtis has built a reputation for delivering top-tier electrical work. He’s since expanded his expertise into the world of security systems – bringing the same level of quality, reliability, and innovation to every job.

Josh McDonald – Lead Technician
Joshua has worked in the security and telecommunications field for many years, including as a traveling technician for both Bell and TELUS, where he supported customers coast to coast. Those experiences gave him a deep understanding not only of the technical side of security systems, but also of the challenges people face when dealing with large companies.
At Thorn Security, Joshua focuses on making things straightforward and dependable for homeowners and businesses. He specializes in reactivating and modernizing existing systems, handling the technical work himself so customers can be confident everything is set up and tested properly.
Outside of work, Joshua enjoys home renovation projects and spending time outdoors. For him, being part of Thorn Security is about combining his technical background with a commitment to providing honest, reliable service in his own community.

Kevin Alley – Security Technician
With over a decade of experience in the security industry across British Columbia, Kevin has worked on nearly every type of security system in the field. His career includes time in some of BC’s toughest, crime-heavy cities, where he gained valuable hands-on expertise. Today, he brings that knowledge and skill to Vancouver Island as a proud member of the Thorn Security team.
Kevin began his career with Price’s Alarms – the gold standard in the industry for many years – where he developed a customer-first approach to service. Drawing on his background in both telecom and security, he’s committed to delivering professional, detail-focused installations of security, camera, and access control systems. From hiding wires for a polished finish to taking the time to walk clients through their systems, Kevin goes above and beyond to ensure every customer feels confident and protected.
Outside of work, Kevin is an avid outdoorsman. He enjoys mountain biking and hiking with his puppy, snowboarding at ski resorts across BC in the winter, and unwinding as a hobby guitarist and songwriter. Born in Alberta and raised in Ontario, Kevin eventually made his way west and has fully embraced BC life – always ready for a road trip or outdoor adventure.

Rene Glenn – Security Advisor
With over 16 years in the security industry, Rene brings a wealth of expertise as a Security Advisor. He has dedicated his security career to safeguarding homeowners, businesses, and government entities across Southern Vancouver Island. Rene spent 13 years with the Victoria BC team at Price’s Alarms before the company was acquired by Telus Custom Security in 2020. Wanting to stay focussed on security solutions rather than bundling telecom services, Rene made the move to Thorn Security.
Rene is committed to keeping Vancouver Island communities safe. He quickly became one of the region’s top integrators of Alarm.com services, seeing the benefits of cellular communication over landlines – faster, more reliable alerts and full remote control of alarm systems. What he saw as the future of alarms is now standard across the industry, proving Rene to be a true visionary in Greater Victoria’s security landscape.
Originally from Regina, Rene has called Vancouver Island home since 1984. He still proudly cheers for the Saskatchewan Roughriders and is a die-hard fan who “bleeds green.” His love for football runs deep, not only as a fan but also as a former coach here in Victoria, where he passed on his knowledge and passion for the game to others.
Outside of work, Rene continues a family tradition of fishing, spending most weekends reeling in salmon or halibut along the Island’s beautiful coastlines. Recognizable by his signature handlebar moustache, Rene is known for doing what’s right for his customers.

Shane Todhunter – Security Advisor
Shane’s journey has taken him from serving in the Canadian Armed Forces to building and running a successful tech company for over 15 years. Along the way, he’s worn many hats – including that of a 911 Police Call Taker – always focused on helping people and solving problems under pressure.
With a deep passion for safety and a talent for building strong relationships, Shane brings a calm, knowledgeable presence to the team. Whether he’s designing a custom security solution or walking a client through their options, Shane’s all about making people feel confident and protected.
When he’s not working, you’ll likely find Shane out on a local trail or deep in a chess game, always up for a challenge and never far from a good conversation.

Bryan Scott – Security Advisor
Bryan got his start in the security world through a TELUS partner, spending 7 years working in residential telecom and alarm systems, handling everything from installations to sales. He appreciated the technical side of the job, but what stood out most was how important personal service is. That’s what drew him to Thorn Security in the Spring of 2024, the chance to work with a local team that puts people and relationships first.
Today, Bryan focusses on both residential and commercial security, specializing in alarm systems, custom CCTV setups, and commercial access control. Whether it’s a small home or a large multi-building property, he takes pride in helping clients feel secure and supported.
Bryan lives in North Saanich with his wife and two kids and brings the same focus and energy to his personal life that he does to his work. He played professional golf, still competes in hockey, and loves to get up the mountain to snowboard. On weekends, you’ll find him on the golf course, at the rink coaching his son, or out exploring the Island with his young family. Whether it’s a new client meeting or a Saturday morning tee time, Bryan shows up ready to deliver.

Cheryl Bisson – Office Assistant
Cheryl has been an integral presence at Thorn since 2020, working to keep things running smoothly as our Office Assistant.
Before joining Thorn, Cheryl spent over ten years in warehousing operations and later worked as a merchandising coordinator, experience that shaped her strong work ethic, team-first mindset and attention to detail.
Born and raised in Victoria, Cheryl is a proud mom of two kids that play soccer and she rarely misses a game, often cheering them on from the sidelines with a coffee in hand. She enjoys staying active through hiking, walking, and kicking the ball around with her family, as well as relaxing movie nights at home whenever she can.
The Rest of the Team
